RNs, Mahala Byrne and Rashell Jones, were recognized as the 2025 DAISY Award recipients at a special celebration in June. Both were among several deserving nurses who were nominated for their compassionate care.

Mahala Byrne, RN joined CFVH in April 2022 and works in the Acute Care and Emergency Department.

Byrne nomination story by a patient -

"I was in the hospital after two surgeries for 5 days. The level of care overall was outstanding. Every nurse was professional, kind and caring. Mahala was exceptionally friendly, proficient and compassionate. She made my stay in the hospital most bearable despite the pain and discomfort from the surgeries."

Rashell Jones, RN has worked at CFVH since June 2018 and cares for surgical patients.

Jones nomination story by a patient -

"I was in for a procedure that I was quite nervous about. Rachelle was so patient and calming to me. She got me the warm blanket and then a second one, she also sat with me to help calm my nerves! Rachelle was very sweet and caring, even though they were pretty busy! I just wanted to let her know how much that meant to me! Thank you for having such a caring person on your staff!"
