CFVH Celebrates First Graduating Cohort of Emergency Room Technician Training Program
CFVH proudly recognizes Cassie Craft, Tracy Hadden, Jamie Soper, Pam DeJong, and Willow Ovitt as the inaugural graduates of the Emergency Room Technician (ER Tech) Training Program. This milestone marks the successful completion of a rigorous professional development initiative designed to advance the capabilities of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) working in acute care.
Launched in the Fall of last year, the ER Tech Program was developed to enhance the skill sets of CNAs, enabling them to play a more integral role in emergency patient care. The program combines comprehensive didactic instruction, intensive clinical immersion, and competency-based evaluations to ensure participants meet the high standards required for emergency room practice.
Certification through this program signifies mastery of essential emergency care procedures, including academic coursework, practical hands-on training, and validated proficiency in core clinical skills. Graduates are now equipped to work in close collaboration with Registered Nurses and providers in the emergency department, contributing advanced competencies such as cardiac monitoring, electrocardiogram (EKG) acquisition, initial wound care for lacerations and abrasions, intravenous (IV) placement, phlebotomy, urinary catheter insertion, and more.
This achievement not only reflects the dedication of the program’s first graduating class but also represents a significant step forward in strengthening the hospital’s emergency care team. Clark Fork Valley Hospital commends these professionals for their commitment to excellence and continuous learning.
