Friday, May 1, 2015

Kevin Meredith, Plains resident and 1999 PHS graduate hopes to bring an added perspective to the CFVH Governing Board as its newest member. Meredith attended Montana Tech for three years and finished his undergraduate experience with a B.S. in Mathematics Education at Montana State University. After completing his masters program in educational leadership at Montana State University, he worked in education for 10 years (six years teaching and four years in administration). Currently the superintendent of the Hot Springs School District, he has plans to transition to the Plains School District next school year as High School Principal and math teacher. Meredith has been married for nine years to his wife Marlee and has two children named Cooper (6 yrs.) and Reese (4 yrs).

What expertise do you have that you feel will be an asset to the board?

Working as a school leader has helped me gain an understanding of "boardmanship" and what it means to act as an individual that must take part in making decisions as a group. I also believe that working in school systems has provided me with thorough knowledge of working in an organization with many moving parts.

Why did you choose to join the CFVH Board?

Growing up and working in Sanders County has given me a deep appreciation and sense of pride in our local community. I want to contribute to our community and believe that being a board member is a small way to support our local area and maintain Sanders County as one of the "last best places".

What are you most excited about?

I am excited to learn more about CFVH and its operations so that I can positively contribute to the board. I believe in lifelong learning and look forward to the opportunity to learn more about one of our communities' most influential organizations.
