Hospital lauded for excellence

An unsung holiday gave an opportunity to announce another award for excellence at Clark Fork Valley Hospital in Plains.
Last week included National Rural Health Day and in celebration, iVantage Health Analytics recognized the CFVH for overall excellence in quality, reflecting a standing in the top 25 percent of all acute care hospitals in the nation. It was one of only three hospitals recognized in Montana for quality metrics. The metrics used were based on quality indicators for patient care in acute heart attacks, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care infection prevention and outpatient process of care scores.
The study looked at a number of areas of health care delivery in over 4000 hospitals. Scores are compared through iVantages Hospital Strength Index. In addition to Excellence in quality, recognition was given to hospitals for excellence in outcomes, patient satisfaction and financial strength.
Dr. Greg Hanson, CEO of CFVH said it was a real honor to see the staff at the hospital recognized for the work they put forth in delivering quality care to patient, who are frequently friends and neighbors. "Their efforts are clearly having a positive impact on Sanders County residents," he said.
The top tier ranking was earned by 547 hospitals around the nation, including ten from Montana representing a broad spectrum of economic and geographic areas.
