Thursday, September 30, 2010

Clark Fork Valley Hospital is the 2010 recipient of Mountain-Pacific Quality Health’s Quality Achievement Award, (the highest award) presented during the General Session at this year's MHA Annual Convention and Trade Show in Billings on September 23, 2010.

This is the ninth year running for this Awards Program which recognizes select hospitals throughout Montana for their commitment to ensuring their patients receive the highest quality of care in certain clinical areas. This year's focus was on heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and preventing surgical infection. Performance on additional patient safety initiatives as well as hospitals' leadership qualities, which are characteristics of successful organizations, were also evaluated.

All Montana hospitals are eligible to apply for Hospital Quality Awards. Award-winning hospitals range from small rural hospitals to large urban hospitals. Mountain-Pacific is the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Montana, Wyoming, Hawaii and Alaska and works under contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to promote proven best practices and transform the way health care is delivered.
