CFVH Covid-19 Update - 3/5/21
Clark Fork Valley Hospital continues to distribute Covid vaccinations to Sanders County residents as quickly as possible upon receiving our supplies. We are scheduled to inject 650 vaccines tomorrow, our largest day yet.
In addition, we are constantly monitoring state guidelines for changing distribution recommendations as occurred this week when Montana created a Phase 1B+ category that includes individuals 60 years of age and older, regardless of health, and 16-59 years of age with one of an expanded list of health conditions. We are also monitoring for anticipated Montana changes that may occur given the federal decision to fast tract immunization of teachers and other school staff.
The initial communication is that certain retail pharmacies will be used to meet the school staff demand, but we have not received definitive instruction, neither have our local pharmacies been contacted with information that they will be involved in this process. Our local pharmacies are however ready to vaccinate individuals when they have vaccine available.
We will reach out to our county school superintendents as we are given updated information, and we will work with the pharmacies and public health department to reach the school staff, as well as continuing our efforts to efficiently vaccinate Sanders County residents when vaccine is available.
