MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
SUMMARY Under the general direction and supervision of the Charge Nurse and/or Staff Nurse or Team Leader, the Nurse Aide assists the professional nursing staff by performing routine duties, within the scope of established methods and techniques, in caring for hospitalized patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs various patient services: 1. Serves and removes trays 2. Feeds patients 3. Bathes patients 4. Makes beds 5. Gives routine and special oral hygiene, denture care 6. Nail care (except for diabetic patients) 7. Shampoos 8. Takes vital signs- temperature, pulse, 9. Application of heat and cold with supervision and direction- ice bag, aqua K-pad, hydroculator 10. Gives and removes bedpans, urinals, commodes 11. Collects specimens-urine, stool, sputum 12. Perineal care or Foley care

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalent; completed Certified Nursing Assistant course; currently licensed in the state of Montana.
